360 CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS PHOTOS

Edwards Aerial uses DroneDeploy and OpenSpace to provide our clients with 360 progress photography for construction projects. We work with owners, contractors, and subcontractors to deliver our clients the ultimate solution for construction photo documentation.

The process is simple. First, we will upload your drawings to the program. Then, we will mount a 360 camera to our hardhat and walk through your construction site weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Within 24 hours of visiting your site, we will upload the videos to the program. The program will automatically stitch the video to the exact locations on your drawings. Our clients can then virtually walk through the job site and inspect the actual field conditions anywhere in the drawings. Click play on the video above to see an example of a project using 360 captures.

360 Construction progress photos are the absolute best way to document construction progress over time. Previously, project team members would need to take daily photos of their site. This method is costly, time-consuming, and the photos rarely capture what you are looking for. Edwards Aerial improves this process immediately. Not only can you walk around the job site, but we also give you the ability to:

  • See behind walls - When your project is doing framing and MEP rough, we will capture your job site. This is an easy way to see where materials have been installed before ripping into walls.
  • Inspections - 360 Progress photos can be taken right before concrete pours so that you have documentation of the rebar and anything within the concrete slabs.
  • Split Views - the viewer can split the 360 progress photos and simultaneously view 2 different days. This is the ultimate way to see construction progress over time.
  • BIM Compare - Using the split view, you can compare the 360 capture to your BIM Model.
  • Field Notes - If you spot a defect while virtually walking through your job site, or if you just have a comment, you can raise a field note. This field note is linked to an exact location and photo on your project, and you can set a contractor or trade to the field note. This is essentially a punch list item but much quicker and easier than typically punch list programs.
